We start our day in Basel marshalling yard, pick up our locomotive, shunt across the yard to our wagons and get them ready to roll. You will see some other trains and quite a distance has to be covered to get to the train. The route today takes us from Basel on the famous Bözberg-Route to Baden, where we head into the Furttal region before reaching Glattbrugg and Rümlang. This is the destination for our load of Jet A-1 fuel, which will then be used at Zurich Airport to make the metal birds fly. There is a lot of shunting movement in the beginning and at the end of the video - you will see the complete manoeuvre into the oil depot and shunting the locomotive out of the oil depot again.
